Custom Protector 28 Cabin RHIB – Twin Yamaha F200s (Repowered 2022) – USCG Documented
One-of-a-kind custom-built Protector by New Zealand-based Rayglass Protector and customized by Pablo Sanchez of Protector USA. Measuring 28 feet on paper, approximately 30 feet overall with a 9.5-foot beam, this highly capable RHIB is powered by twin Yamaha F200 four-stroke outboards installed new in 2022. As equipped, the vessel weighs approximately 7,000 lbs (without passengers), cruises comfortably at 32 mph, and reaches a top speed of approximately 45 mph.
Built by hand in New Zealand and originally derived from designs developed for coast guard, military, and law enforcement applications, Protector boats are widely regarded among the most seaworthy RHIBs in the world. The non-cored, hand-laid fiberglass deep-V hull delivers exceptional ride quality, safety, durability, and fuel efficiency, typically consuming 10–20% less fuel than comparable conventional hull designs while maintaining outstanding rough-water performance.
The cabin comfortably sleeps two and includes a private electric marine head with holding tank. This versatile vessel is equally suited for coastal cruising, bay excursions, sailing regattas, fishing, water sports, and chase boat duties. Stored both on a trailer and on a covered marina lift out of the water, the boat has been meticulously maintained and has never been involved in an accident.
Service has been performed on schedule by authorized dealers. Oil service was completed at 100 hours, and impellers and lower units were serviced at 300 hours per Yamaha recommendations. Engines are flushed after every use, and Yamaha engine diagnostic reports showing total hours, RPM history, and fault-code data will be provided to prospective buyers. Twin Yamaha F200 outboards were purchased new in 2022 and currently have approximately 530 hours.
